Graphene could greatly advance today’s technologies by enabling electronics to run at a high speed. Graphene can easily do this because of recent studies that concluded in graphene translating lower frequencies to higher frequencies. Graphene can do this because of its molecular structure and its ability to conduct electricity with no resistance. Carbon atoms in graphene can transform electronic signals from gigahertz up to terahertz, which is up to 1,000 times more information per second (Most computers today run in the gigahertz range) Graphene has been tested to convert more than a thousandth, ten-thousandth, and hundred-thousandth of 300 gigahertz onto 0.9, 1.5, and 2.1 terahertz. WIth this information, we might be able to see advancements in our lifetime which would allow computers to have higher processing rates, or be about 1,000 times faster. We could also see smaller devices like phones become very fast due to this advancement.

I think the computers would be used very often , just because the internet not as slow as it was once before.

this is a nice idea to increase speed of internet and devices, but i think in my point of view that it will the carbon footprint.

Deletei wonder what would happen to all the old phones and computers not made with this if we start making technology with graphene, would we try and recycle it or would it end up in a landfill- kennedy
ReplyDeleteBy using graphene in electronic devices, it seems possible for us to become a more advanced society in terms of how fast electronics can operate. I would like to have graphene in my next iPhone because it would process things faster.-Jeffrey
