Phone Screen Time

By: Jonathan Fisher

Problem:

Kids are spending too much time on screens and it’s having drastic effects on them and the generation as a whole. There have been some effective resolutions that have been put in place to restrict screen time. One is parental control apps or family time which limits screen times and controls content. Another effective resolution that's being brought into place is bringing more awareness and a conscience mind to parents to predominately let their kids promote creation, collaboration, or appropriate communication under supervision. These are two resolutions for the problem kids face with screen time on their mobile devices.

Questions for Solutions:

Because screen time affects the growth of kids cognition, would limiting and restricting the daily or weekly screen time kids get be beneficial for them?

Research shows teens in absence of cell phones experience at least one of the three: loneliness, upset, or anxiety. How would incorporating more physical activities daily benefit the kid?

Should parents have some type of technical class or lessons on handling the issue better?

  9. I think that limiting the time kids are using electronics is very important. Being on a device all the time limits their interaction with family, friends, or even kids of their age. It limits them to staying on their device and wanting it constantly, it definitely would limit their growth as a child because theyre not outside doing child like things. If their time was limited, their brains and their bodies would develop at a faster and better rate.
