In 2024 one American woman and man shall be zoomed up to the moon’s south pole. There was a bit of drama between politicians from Texas that wanted Houston to be the only place for landing and take-offs, as one of the first words spoken on the moon was “Houston.” But the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama was considered superior and won the rights of take-off. It was said by Bridenstine that NASA has the same mission, and should be united and strive for the best discoveries in space science.

Do you agree with the notion that we should strive to discover more and unite? Or should we respect and maintain history and tradition?

Who do you think should go up to the moon? Would you want to?

Should we switch up states for take-offs to the moon? Or would that make it less special?

  2. I think people who are well educated about space should go up to the moon because they know a lot of important information that you probably should know because it's a dangerous mission. I would personally like to go to the moon because just space in general is very fascinating. -Andrew

  4. So i disagree with this, Texas is a very crowded state and is also know for famous thing's. We should choose a state where not many people live in and also is going to be famous from this. - Anushka

  6. I do agree with the idea that states should unite and strive to discover more at the expense of tradition. The focus should be about what we discover about the moon, not the significance of where the rocket launches from

  7. I like the fact that people are trying to keep the tradition and history alive with the launches. But on the the other hand I feel like they should try and make new history with a new launch area. -Kamilah Gamble

  8. I think that trying for the best advancements in science and space travel should always trump something like tradition. Tradition in the sense of having something like keeping the same area for an event shouldn't hold us back from scientific advancements. - Grace Briggs

  12. I think it's best the US continues expeditions to the moon because even though it's not big news today it's one of the most influential points in history and I think it'd feel wrong giving up opportunities to continue the impact of what the country has accomplished. - Nathaniel H.

  13. I don't see any issue with relocating where rockets take off, it could be beneficial. As for the significance, it could make it less special considering it has never been there before and all rockets took off in the previous location but as for the experience of going up to space, I don't think it changes anything in the literal sense of it. - Mitchell Shabansky

  14. No i dont think we should switch because it doesnt make a huge difference and there is so much history at the orignal spot, why change it. -kaylyn sharp

  15. I believe that we should change where space launches are taking place. If we are continuing to launch in Houston for the sake of tradition, then that is actually hindering our discoveries. Venturing out into pace is about discovering new things, not trying to keep a tradition. Tradition does not encourage people to try new things. Changing the launch location could potentially be beneficial to our space program.
