Tanning Beds and Their Relation to Melanoma-By Kamilah Gamble
Scientist have finally found the link between tanning beds and the most dangerous skin cancer melanoma. Melanoma is a form of skin cancer that happens when the pigment-producing cells change and become cancerous, says medical news today. All though when melanoma starts off as small brown spots(as you see in the picture) that you can treat. But it can quickly escalate as the cancer will grow into the skin and into blood cells that will transfer it to organs where it can become fatal(americanskin.org). Science has now shown that using tanning beds before you are 35 can increase your chance of having this cancer by 50-80%(aad.org and skincancer.org). The only way to prevent this cancer in relation to tanning beds to not use them, becasue is some way the cancer is there it's just not noticeable just yet(curemlanoma.org).
