SpaceX StarLink Satellites by David Carrasco

SpaceX StarLink Satellites David Carrasco

SpaceX launched satellites on Monday January 6. These satellites are designed to provide internet coverage back on Earth, adding to the more than 100 internet satellites in orbit around the planet. The rockets used in this launch are Falcon 9s, which are designed to re-enter earth and land safely back on platforms. SpaceX is hoping to massively lower the price of space travel through this innovative technology.

How is this important for our society?

Could this technology be used for human space travel?

Is SpaceX taking over NASA?

  1. I think it's really cool that Space X is trying to find a way to reuse rockets.
It will definitely help reduce costs

    1. Yes especially since there is a lot of space junk from all the space travel we as humans have done, so that will help with that.

  2. I don't believe that SpaceX is taking over NASA, even though commercial flight may become available in the future, and think that they have a high chance of working together. In many cases, private companies will work together with government programs to provide materials and other necessities to allow the program to run smoothly. I think that SpaceX and Nasa are no exception.

    1. I also believe that NASA and SpaceX would work together to make one huge space company, why have competition when they both are rooting for the same goals. This also goes to the smaller companies, mainly to supply and help out one another with material like you said.

  3. The idea to reuse rockets will make astronomy a much bigger field in society. Most objects that go into space are launched and it's a big deal, but there's a long wait before something else is launched. The ability to launch rockets without building a new one every time will make the process faster causing more of a social interest.

  4. I think things would be much faster and easier if both NASA and Space X work with each other because Space X has the financial ability and NASA has the resources so it would be very interesting to see them both cooperating to make space traveling happen as soon as possible.

  5. I don't think spaceX is taking over, I just think astronomers and others just want to know whats going on outside of what we cant control and that includes whats happening outside of earth. I think the travels and missions are very important because it does give us the chance to understand what we do and don't have control over along with what the future holds for our planet

  10. I think SpaceX is becoming a counterpart of NASA. They focus on different ideas that both help further our species technologically.
